Popups

Vortec's popups allow you to customize the right-click popup menus. By default, Vortec includes commands in popup menus that can be accessed by clicking the right mouse button while the mouse pointer is located over either the names list in a channel window, or the main text pane in a channel window/private message or server window.

When you click on the Popups button in the tool bar, or select the Popup command from the Tools menu, Vortec will display the popup editor. The tabs on the top of the editor window allow you to select which popup menu to edit.

Editing and defining popup commands is almost identical to defining aliases. By default, Vortec includes a number of the most useful commands in the various POPUP menus.

Defining a Popup

A popup is defined by entering a menu item name followed by a comma and image index, then a colon, and then one or more commands separated by the | character. The entire popup definition must be placed on a single line in the editor.

The image index is required for each popup. If you do not want the menu item to have an image, use "-1" as the image index. Otherwise you can use the numbers 0 - 17 to use an image. Use the preview feature to view the available images. You may add additional images by placing icons in the icons folder. They must be named numerically starting with 19.ico then 20.ico and so on. These will be loaded and added to the preview window.

Example Popup

Be right back,-1:/me will be right back.

If your popup definition is too long to manage on a single line, you can create the commands for the popup in aliases and then have your popup execute the alias command.

You can preview the popup by clicking the Test button on the toolbar.

Using Pirch popups

You can click the Convert button on the toolbar to locate and convert a Pirch popup file (*.irc) into Vortec format.
