Notify List

You can use the notify list to keep track of when your friends join or leave IRC. To use the notify list, check the box labeled "Enable notify list" and add you friends' nicks to the list by clicking the Add button. To edit or delete a nick, simply highlight it from the list and press Edit or Delete.

Vortec can import an existing notify list from mIRC, Pirch and Vortec profiles. To import a notify list, press the Import button and select the appropriate profile file. If the profile contains a notify list it will be imported into your list.

By default, notify messages are sent to the server window. You can have them show in the active window by checking the box labeled "Display in active window". You can also select the interval in which the notify list is sent to the server. The default is 45 seconds. Setting this value too low may cause you to lag on a larger network, so keep it set at 30 seconds or higher.

Most IRC clients can only support a limited number of nicknames in the notify list due to server restrictions. However, Vortec IRC works around these restrictions and allows you to place an unlimited number of nicknames in your notify list.

As of Vortec 0.8.36 the option to use WATCH is available. When this checkbox is checked, Vortec will automatically use the WATCH system instead of regular notify if the server supports it.
