Logging

Vortec IRC can save a log file of everything that is said in a channel, private message, server window, and DCC transfers. From this section you can also set the default log directory by clicking the button with the folder icon and selecting a new folder.

To have Vortec log your messages, simply check the appropriate box.

Log Folder

This is the location in which Vortec will store your log files. The default is <Vortec>\Logs\.

Strip Text Formatting Codes From Logs

This will make Vortec remove any bold, italic, colors, and other text codes from log entries.

Store Log Files By Network

This option allows Vortec to create unique folders for each network you log on to.

Include Date In Log File Name

This will append the current date to the log file name. For example, "#vortec.20051002.log". At the end of the day, if the window is still being logged at 12:00 PM, the log will be closed and a new log will be opened with the new date. This is useful for keeping log file sizes down and for categorizing logs.
