Color Settings

The Colors option allows you to change the colors of certain IRC event messages as well as the background and foreground colors of the channel nicklist, input command line, and the text output console.

To change the color of any particular IRC event message, simply click on the message in the text window. The box labeled "Color" at the bottom will reflect the color of the IRC message. To change this color click the "Select" button. A Color Select dialog will open, just choose any color you wish.

To change the color of the Input edit box, click the blank section of the edit box and repeat the steps above to select the desired color. You can change the text color by clicking on the Input text.

You can also select different colors for the channel nicklist. This is useful for easily recognizing channel operators and users on your notify and ignore lists. To change the color, select the appropriate item in the nicklist and use the Select button to change the color. You can change the color of the nicklist background by clicking on one of the nicklist items labeled (Background).

Vortec IRC also gives you the option of displaying text smilies as emoticons. If the "Use emoticons" option is checked, all text smilies in the server and channel windows will be converted into icons. Below is a table of supported emoticons and their use.
