Thank you for trying Vortec IRC.

I have been developing this application since about 1999. It's earliest form was Kung Fu IRC. Back then there were many rumors of Pirch being dropped, and finally, after only a slightly modified version of Pirch 98 for TalkCity was released, development stopped. I started working on my IRC client more to learn different programming techniques than anything else. If you think about it, there are many facets of this application. Sockets, file handling, scripting, etc. So it's easy to see how developing a robust program can teach many techniques.
