Ok so I have been working behind the scenes for a while on migrating this site over to a wordpress blog. I believe everything should be working now. The Scripts section is now hosted on a subdomain, scripts.vortecirc.com. Still has the old look of the site, as well as the forum. Links to these sections are over on the right column. Feel free to register an account and/or leave comments wherever you’d like. As always, I am open to any and all suggestions.

I know it has been a while since I posted any news, so here’s what’s going on… I am rewriting Vortec using the Lazarus FreePascal IDE. Why, you ask? Because Lazarus is a cross-platform compiler, which means I could compile Vortec on Linux and Mac, and any other system that Lazarus can be installed on. This will take some time as many elements of Vortec are platform dependent. It also means that I can compile a 64 bit version as well, as Delphi still does not support building x64 apps. I will keep you up to speed though! I am also going to release a maintenance build soon which fixes a few bugs that have been reported.

The site is back up 

AVG Anti-virus has been reporting the Vortec IRC installer as a virus. This is a false-positive triggered by the setup program I use to install Vortec (InnoSetup). Several programs which use InnoSetup are being reported as PSW.Banker5.ZOY by AVG including MalwareByte’s. This problem has been reported to AVG and they have updated their virus definitions to fix this. If you are getting this virus alert, try manually updating your virus definitions and it should take care of it.

I have uploaded Vortec’s voice chat code for use by anyone who wants it. It was put together
on Delphi 6 but this code should work for any version, I think. Downloads page to download.

I was made aware of a few critical issues in the new 1.0 that I did not discover while testing. Sorry about that, but I have another update which addresses some of the issues you may be having. Get 1.0.2 from the Downloads page.

Finally, Vortec IRC version 1.0 is available! Nearly 200 bug fixes, additions and improvements have been added from the beta 0.8 version. Get it now from the Downloads page! If you are upgrading from version 0.8 or 0.9 there are a couple of things to note with scripts and file locations, read the posts here and
here. The 1.0 installer includes an upgrade script which will help you migrate your files if you are upgrading from 0.8.
