Vortec IRC

The NEW pIRCh

Scripts

Added “!dice” channel game script to downloads. More to come.

Bug Tracker

The Vortec IRC bug tracker is back online. I am working on getting a new version out soon. If you have any feature requests or bug reports, feel free to create a login and submit your findings.

New Downloads Section

I am revamping the Downloads section. I am in the process of moving all of the scripts into this new system instead of hosting them on a subdomain.

If anyone finds any broken links, please let me know. Log in and email me from your profile, or post a message on the forum.

Also, when downloading scripts please be aware of your Vortec version and make sure the script you want is compatible with your version. Many scripts were written for Vortec 0.8 and will not work with Vortec 1.0. Each script should specify compatibility, but if no Vortec versions is specified the script should work on all versions. If you find a script that is specified for your Vortec version, or no version is specified, and it does not work, please email me or post a message on the forum and let me know which script and which Vortec version you are using so I can take care of it.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!

How To Use Vortec IRC

I have been looking through my website access logs and I notice that every so often, someone will come to this site from Google with the search term How to use Vortec IRC. Well first of all, there’s an entire section in the help file that explains, step by step in detail, of how to connect to an IRC server, join a channel, and start chatting. It’s called Getting Started. But I decided to go ahead and post this entry so that those people who consult Google before consulting the help file will have access to this information as well. :)

Click this link and behold the online help file which should answer all of your questions, and if it doesn’t, just visit the forum!

Downloads page issues

Sorry about the issues with the Downloads section. I don’t know what happened, but it’s back up. The Vortec IRC installer is hosted on CNET so you can always find it there ;)

New website updates

Ok so I have been working behind the scenes for a while on migrating this site over to a wordpress blog. I believe everything should be working now. The Scripts section is now hosted on a subdomain, scripts.vortecirc.com. Still has the old look of the site, as well as the forum. Links to these sections are over on the right column. Feel free to register an account and/or leave comments wherever you’d like. As always, I am open to any and all suggestions.

Vortec Updates

I know it has been a while since I posted any news, so here’s what’s going on… I am rewriting Vortec using the Lazarus FreePascal IDE. Why, you ask? Because Lazarus is a cross-platform compiler, which means I could compile Vortec on Linux and Mac, and any other system that Lazarus can be installed on. This will take some time as many elements of Vortec are platform dependent. It also means that I can compile a 64 bit version as well, as Delphi still does not support building x64 apps. I will keep you up to speed though! I am also going to release a maintenance build soon which fixes a few bugs that have been reported.
